Former Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor has enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana and joined the football team, reports Michael Casagrande of the Alabama Media Group.

Taylor was dismissed from the Alabama football team in the spring, following an incident with his former girlfriend. He had a domestic violence charge dropped after accepting a plea deal, but pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal mischief.

The incident at Alabama was Taylor's third arrest, the first two coming while he was a member of the Georgia football program. Taylor was dismissed from Georgia after those arrests, one of which was also for domestic violence.

Southeastern Louisiana released a statement addressing Taylor's addition to the program. In the statement, the school made it clear that it felt comfortable accepting Taylor because he had not been found guilty.

“While we are aware of past controversies, Jonathan has not been found guilty for the incidents he was accused of that led to his dismissal from his prior institutions,” the statement said. “The Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach have met with Jonathan to outline the expectations of a Southeastern student-athlete.”

Taylor will not be eligible to play until 2016, his final year of NCAA eligibility.
