Colorado State is looking to rebound from a tough 23–20 overtime loss to Minnesota in Week 2. Running back Dalyn Dawkins rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown, but fumbled on the first play of OT, leading to Minnesota’s game winning field goal. The Rams played without All-America receiver Rashard Higgins due to an ankle injury, and his replacement Jordon Vaden left three snaps into the game after hurting his hip.

Colorado improved to 1–1 last week with a decisive 48–14 victory over UMass, thanks to 390 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Michael Adkins ran for 119 yards and a score on 19 carries, while Christian Powell needed just eight touches to pile up 105 yards and two touchdowns. It was a much needed win after a disappointing opener. Their 48 points were the most in a Colorado home opener since 1999.
