Wake Forest defeated Army 17–14 Saturday on a 47-yard field goal as time expired, but the attempt almost ended in disaster.

A low snap that hit the turf was scooped up by punter/holder Alex Kinal and placed upright just in time for sophomore Mike Weaver to kick.

The Demon Deacons improved to 2–1 on the year with the win, and will look to build some momentum when they host Indiana on Sept. 26.

Kendall Hinton completed 27 passes for 159 yards, and added 101 on the ground, to help Wake Forest.
