Southern Miss comes into Week 4 after edging out Texas State in a shootout last Saturday. The two teams combined for 106 points, and the Golden Eagles rode running back Jalen Richard, who posted 230 rushing yards and four touchdowns, to a 56-50 victory. Quarterback Nick Mullens finished the game 19-of-27 for 333 yards passing and four touchdowns. He has more than 900 yards through the first three games. The Golden Eagles have played one Power 5 team so far this season, losing 34-16 to Mississippi State.
Nebraska will look to rebound after losing to Miami (FL) by three points in overtime last week. The Cornhuskers erased a 23-point deficit to force overtime, but couldn't continue their good luck against the Hurricanes. Quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. finished 21 of 45 for 309 yards and four touchdowns, but also through three interceptions, including a costly pick in overtime. Terrell Newby managed only 82 yards against the Hurricanes, but posted 198 yards against South Alabama the week before.
