Ohio enters 3–0 after playing three relatively easy games, and will face its first real test against Minnesota. The Bobcats disposed of Southeastern Louisiana 35–14 behind 461 yards of total offense in their last game. Derrius Vick tossed the ball 26 times, completing 17 passes for 327 yards and two touchdowns with an interception.

Minnesota nearly fell to 1–2 last week, but hung on to beat Kent State 10–7. KJ Maye threw a 14-yard TD pass to put Minnesota ahead 10–0 in the second quarter, and Kent State’s Demetrius Monday returned a fumble 80 yards for a score in the third. That was it for offense—while Minnesota held Kent State to just 142 yards, they gained just 288 themselves. They also turned the ball over three times.
