Baylor coach Jeff Lebby suspended for first half of Oklahoma game
Baylor assistant coach Jeff Lebby will be suspended for the first half of the Bears’ game against Oklahoma on Nov. 14 for his presence on the sideline of last week’s Oklahoma-Tulsa game, reports NewsOK.com.
Lebby was on the Tulsa sideline scouting the Sooners ahead of their November matchup. Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw decided on Lebby’s suspension, and it was approved by Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby.
“The opportunity for Coach Lebby to scout a future opponent by being on the sideline of a conference member’s opponent is inconsistent with the principles and expectations of the Big 12 Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct Policy,” Bowlsby said in a statement. “I appreciate the action of Baylor athletics director Ian McCaw in addressing this matter and accept the University’s self-imposed penalty.”
Three Baylor coaches have now been suspended for parts of this season. Offensive coordinator Kendal Briles and wide receivers coach Tate Wallis were suspended for a game earlier this season for a recruiting violation.

Baylor takes on Rice this Saturday. Oklahoma is off until Oct. 3, when the play West Virginia.
