Report: Florida football suspensions linked to drug tests
Florida Gators quarterback Treon Harris and cornerback Jalen Tabor have been suspended for Florida’s upcoming game against Tennessee. Harris was suspended for failing a drug test, and Tabor for refusing to take one, reports ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.
Head coach Jim McElwain said the two players were suspended for “some choices they made.”
Harris started the Gators’ season opener against New Mexico State and finished with 215 yards and two touchdowns. Redshirt freshman Will Grier also saw action at quarterback during the Gators’ 61-13 win. Grier has since started in the Gators’ victories over East Carolina and Kentucky.
Tabor has not started a game for the Gators in 2015. He posted an apology on his Twitter page on Thursday after tweeting that the “UF athletic association sucks” on Wednesday before deleting the tweet.
The Gators will play Tennessee at home on Saturday at 3:30 ET.
