Four-star recruit JaQuori McLaughlin commits to Oregon State
JaQuori McLaughlin of Peninsula High School (Gig Harbor, Washington) has verbally committed to play basketball at Oregon State for a second time after initially committing as a high school sophomore and later reopening his recruitment.
"It feels pretty good to find the right fit. I love the coaching staff, the players, the campus, the environment," McLaughlin toldThe Oregonian. "What they are building in Corvallis is going to be special. I'm pretty excited."
McLaughlin, 6‘3” and 180 pounds, is considered a four-star recruit by Rivals.
After reopening his recruitment, McLaughlin decided on playing for Washington last November but then re-opened his recruitment for a second time to consider Washington, Oregon State, Wisconsin and Utah. McLaughlin also held offers from Arizona, Baylor, Boise State, California, Gonzaga, Memphis and Stanford.
Oregon State head coach Wayne Tinkle has landed his second recruit in the class of 2016 with McLaughlin after three-star power forward Ben Kone committed to the Beavers on Aug. 11.
