No. 16 Northwestern will host the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Ryan Field on Saturday at noon.
The Golden Gophers opened their 2015 season with a 23–17 loss to the TCU Horned Frogs before three straight wins over Colorado State, Kent State and Ohio. Minnesota beat Ohio 27–24 on homecoming.
Northwestern is looking for its fifth win of the season after wins over Stanford, Eastern Illinois, Duke and Ball State. Redshirt freshman quarterback Clayton Thorson threw a career-high 256 yards and three touchdowns to secure a 24–19 win over Ball State this past Saturday.
