Four-star safety Shurod Thompson announced his commitment to Oregon State on Monday.

The Brentwood, Calif. native, who rescinded his commitment to Cal in June, is the 11th verbal commit in Oregon State's class of 2016.

The 6'1", 185-pound Liberty High School senior chose the Beavers over Oklahoma, Arizona State, San Diego State and Utah.

“I could definitely see myself playing up there,” Thompson toldThe Oregonian after his official visit to Oregon State last month. “Like I've said before, my cousin, Xavier Crawford, is already up there, so it makes it that much better.”

According to 247 Sports, Thompson is the No. 7 safety and No. 30 overall recruit in California in the class of 2016.
