Georgia Bulldogs running back Nick Chubb sustained a torn PCL in his left knee on Saturday and is out for the season, according toSI’s Thayer Evans.

Chubb left Georgia’s game against Tennessee with a left knee injury in the first quarter and not return. He was spinning around the sideline when he was tackled and his left leg planted awkwardly. Chubb, a sophomore, entered Saturday with 91 carries for 745 yards and seven touchdowns.

Chubb was eventually carted off the field. CBS Sports’ Allie LaForce reported Chubb collapsed on his way to the cart, and regained consciousness once he was being taken to the locker room.

Georgia coach Mark Richt said after the game that he was “optimistic” Chubb would not need surgery on the knee.
