Texas Longhorns upset Oklahoma Sooners in Red River Rivalry

The Texas Longhorns won this season’s Red River Shootout, beating the Oklahoma Sooners 24–17 on Saturday in Dallas, Texas. 

The Longhorns headed into halftime with a 14–3 lead after scoring twice in the first quarter.

Quarterback Jerrod Heard went 8 for 10, throwing for 53 yards and one touchdown. Running back D'Onta Freeman had nine carries for 117 yards. The Longhorns had one of their best defensive performances of the year, as the Sooners’ 17 points is their lowest so far this season. 

After the game, Texas coach Charlie Strong celebrated with some crowdsurfing.
