Sam Houston State rolls 59-7 over Incarnate Word

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) Ladarius Brown caught two touchdown passes and Sam Houston State cruised to a 59-7 victory over Incarnate Word on Saturday night.

The Bearkats (3-2, 3-1 Southland), the FCS' second-ranked team in scoring offense, led 52-0 at halftime by which time they already had 423 of their 596 total yards and 22 of their 32 first downs.

Brown had 115 yards receiving, while starter Jared Johnson, one of three quarterbacks to play for Sam Houston, completed 8 of 9 passes for 168 yards and two scores. Freshman Remus Bulmer had his best game with 98 yards on 17 carries.

Johnson threw touchdown passes of 66 yards to Cory Avery and 35 yards to Brown, and Donavan Williams ran in from a yard out for 24-0 first-quarter lead.

Luc Swimberghe became the Bearkats' all-time leader with 172 made PATs.

The Cardinals (3-3, 2-2) had three passes intercepted and lost two fumbles.
