UCF’s George O’Leary to step down as interim AD, will stay head coach

George O’Leary will immediately step down as interim athletic director at Central Florida, but will remain the head coach of the football team, the school announced on Monday.
Brad Stricklin, the school's Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director/CFO, will take over as interim athletic director.
O’Leary, who has coached UCF's football program since 2004, became the school's interim athletic director in June. O'Leary replaced Todd Stansbury, who left to become Oregon State’s athletic director this summer.
The Knights, who lead the nation with the most first-time starters (30), have struggled this season and remain winless heading into Week 7.
