Oklahoma’s flight to Kansas State delayed over eight hours

Oklahoma’s flight to Manhattan, Kan., for its Saturday game against Kansas State was delayed more than eight hours on Friday due to a mechanical issue.
The team was scheduled to depart Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City at 3:45 p.m. ET, but waited eight hours due to various issues, including an engine problem. The team camped out in the lobby watching film to pass the time.
According to KWTC’s Dean Blevins, it took four planes to eventually get the Sooners off the ground. After their initial plane needed a repair, the three backup planes that were called into action experienced problems of their own. Eventually, around midnight, the team took off and landed at 12:42 a.m. It pulled in to the hotel somewhere between 1:30 and 2 a.m.
The Sooners are scheduled to play the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. ET, less than 15 hours after landing in Kansas.

Sooners senior associate athletic director Kenny Mossman tweeted through the event as well.
Not saying I'm bored out here, but I did look the definition of tarmac, which is actually short for tarmacadam.

Downside: We're still waiting on a plane to take us to Manhattan. Upside: It's a beautiful night to hang out on a tarmac.
