The Texas Longhorns (2–4) play host to the Kansas State Wildcats (3–3) at Darrell K Royal Stadium on Saturday.
The Longhorns pulled off a shocking 24–17 upset of then–No. 10 Oklahoma two weeks ago. The Longhorns focused on the run game, totaling 313 yards and holding the Sooner to just 67 yards. Quarterback Jerrod Heard led the way with 115 yards on 21 carries. Backup quarterback Tyrone Swoopes scored the team’s lone rushing touchdown.
Kansas State’s last game coming into the Texas matchup was also against Oklahoma, but the Wildcats suffered a much different fate, failing to score in a 55–0 loss. Quarterback Joe Hubener finished the game 4 for 14 passing with 39 yards and two interceptions. The Kansas State offense gained a total of just 110 yards.
