Anderson helps lead William & Mary over Hampton 40-7

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) Kendell Anderson rushed for a career-high 195 yards and a touchdown and William & Mary defeated Hampton 40-7 on Saturday for its third straight win.

Anderson had 175 of his yards and his touchdown in the first half when the FCS-ranked Tribe (5-2) shot out to a 30-0 lead over the Pirates (4-4). Anderson went over 100 yards rushing for the fifth consecutive game.

Nick Dorka kicked three field goals in the first quarter and ended up with four to tie a William & Mary record, the longest a 47-yarder. Anderson's 1-yard score came next, then Steve Cluley's 17-yard touchdown to DeVonte Dedmon followed by Mikal Abdul-Saboor's 3-yard TD run with 43 seconds before the half.

Cluley added a 14-yard scoring run in the second half.

The Pirates' lone touchdown came on David Watford's 48-yard pass to Twarn Mixson. Watson was 11 of 28 for 123 yards with two interceptions.
