Oklahoma Sooners cornerback Zack Sanchez was carted off the field Saturday against Texas Tech with an apparent right leg injury which he sustained on the first play of the game.

Sanchez dropped back into coverage and deflected a pass from Red Raiders quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but came down holding his right ankle after the play.

He was replaced by reserve defensive back Dakota Austin, with usual backup Marcus Green out.

The redshirt junior has been named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week twice so far in 2015.

Oklahoma ran out to an early 7–0 lead thanks to a Joe Mixon rushing touchdown from 11 yards out.
