Memphis headed to the locker room in Friday night's game against Tulsa with a 35–21 lead, but only after the Golden Hurricane completed their second Hail Mary touchdown to end a first half this season.

With 10 seconds remaining in the first half, after he escaped pressure, a pass from quarterback Dane Evans was batted into the air right into the hands of Keyarris Garrett for the score.

Tulsa’s first Hail Mary of the season also fell into the hands of Garrett, against No. 16 Oklahoma. The pass cut the Sooners’ lead to 31–24 before Oklahoma pulled away in the second half and won 52–38 to avoid the upset.
