Wake Forest guards Cornelius Hudson and Rondale Watson suspended

Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning has suspended guards Cornelius Hudson and Rondale Watson, the school announced on Saturday.

Both players will serve their suspensions at the start of the upcoming season for a violation of departmental rules. 

The specific violations were not disclosed, but Hudson and Watson will be eligible to compete once they meet the criteria for reinstatement. 

Watson, a sophomore appeared in 12 games last season, averaging 1.5 points and 0.8 rebounds per game. Hudson played in 21 games during his freshman year, starting in 10. He averaged 7.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. 

Wake Forest plays their first regular-season game on Nov. 13 against UMBC
