Baylor quarterback Seth Russell announced he had successful surgery after sustaining a season-ending neck injury last week against Iowa State.
Russell, a junior, was hurt during a four-yard run in the middle of the fourth quarter of Baylor’s 45–27 win. He posted on Instagram Saturday after undergoing the procedure on a fractured bone in his neck.
The comments in the caption were his first since the injury.
Freshman Jarrett Stidham has assumed the starting job in Russell’s absence. The Bears travel to play Kansas State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
