Clemson QB Watson: No hard feelings after NC State incident

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson says he's put the sideline incident by a North Carolina State assistant coach behind him.

Watson said Monday he spoke with Wolfpack running backs coach Des Kitchings after the Tigers 56-41 victory on Saturday. Kitchings shoved Watson after the sophomore ran into the assistant on the Wolfpack sidelines after a play.

Watson says the incident ''was nothing that major to me.''

Watson waved his finger at Kitchings, who then shoved the player as he ran back onto the field.

The quarterback says he and Kitchings talked about the incident after the game. Kitchings later called Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott to apologize.

On Saturday, North Carolina State coach Dave Doeren said he thought the matter had been settled.
