Charleston Southern beats Kennesaw State, 28-14

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) Austin Brown accounted for two touchdowns, Anthony Ellis forced and returned a fumble 61-yards for another score, and Charleston Southern beat Kennesaw State 28-14 on Saturday.

Darius Hammond added 66 yards rushing with a touchdown for Charleston Southern (8-1, 5-0 Big South), which has won seven straight.

Trey White found Chaston Bennett on a 79-yard scoring strike 16 seconds into the game to give Kennesaw State its only lead, 6-0 (the PAT was blocked). Brown found Colton Corn from 23-yards out late in the first quarter, and Tyler Tekac added the extra-point that gave the Buccaneers the lead which they didn't relinquish.

Hammond ran in from the 12-yard line, and Ellis scored on his fumble recovery to make it 21-6 at halftime. Brown added a 7-yard touchdown run.

White and Jake McKenzie combined for 189 yards passing for Kennesaw State (6-3, 2-2). McKenzie added 43 yards rushing and a fourth quarter touchdown.
