Virginia Tech will honor retiring coach Frank Beamer with helmet stickers for the rest of the season.

Beginning with Thursday night’s game against Georgia Tech, the Hokies will don the stickers honoring Beamer’s time as head coach, dating back to 1987. He is the longest-tenured head football coach in the country, with 234 career wins at Virginia Tech.

Thursday’s game is the team’s first since Beamer announced he would retire at the end of the season. Virginia Tech is 5–0 all time against Georgia Tech in Thursday games.

The Hokies tweeted out photos of the special decal on Thursday morning. The photo depicted on the sticker is from 1999, when Beamer famously addressed the crowd after the team completed an undefeated season.

HARRIS: Beamer never lost himself while leading Virginia Tech to big time

The Hokies (4–5) play the Yellow Jackets (3–6) Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
