Wisconsin RB Corey Clement injured in off-campus incident
Wisconsin running back Corey Clement sustained a cut to his hand during an incident near his off-campus residence, the school announced in a press release Wednesday.
According to the statement, Clement was on his way to his home early Sunday morning when he witnessed a verbal argument between one of the building’s security guards and a group of individuals. Clement became involved in the incident and he and the security guard were assaulted by the group.
Further information about the incident was not released due to the ongoing nature of the police investigation.
Clement was present practice on Wednesday, but did not participate due to the fact that his is recovering from the effects of a sports hernia injury.

The junior left the team’s opening game against Alabama after eight carries due to soreness in his abductor muscles. Clement underwent sports hernia surgery in Germany in September and played against Rutgers on Oct. 31, picking up 115 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries.
Clement was expected to replace 2014 All-American Melvin Gordon as the team’s starting running back this season. He carried the ball 147 times for 949 yards and two touchdowns in 2014.
