BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) Rasheed Worrell and Wesley Alceqaire scored 15 and 14 points, respectively, and Bowling Green opened its centennial season with a 79-61 romp over New Orleans Saturday afternoon.

The victory marked the debut of first-year head coach Michael Huger and was the Falcons' 24th consecutive win in a home opener. Bowling Green began its men's basketball program in the 1915-16 season.

JD Tisdale knocked down a 3-pointer and added the first of two free throws that capped a 20-8 Bowling Green run over the game's first nine minutes.

Playing his first game after redshirting, Worrell grabbed eight rebounds and Antwon Lillard and Zack Denny contributed 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Falcons, who were 25 of 55 from the field, including 6 of 23 from long range.

Christavious Gill scored 21 points to lead New Orleans, but was the only Privateer to reach double-figure scoring.
