PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (AP) Jordan Price scored 27 points, Johnnie Schuler hit the game-winner and La Salle held off Towson 78-76 in Saturday's season opener.

Schuler scored 15 points and broke a 73-73 tie with a layup, then made three free throws in the final 40 seconds to seal the win.

Cleon Roberts and Yevgen Sakhniuk each scored 11 for La Salle, which led 45-39 at halftime.

Towson rallied to within a point three times in the second half before taking a 71-70 lead after Mike Morsell scored two free throws and a layup with 4:22 left. The game was deadlocked at 73 for nearly two and a half minutes before Shuler's layup and free throws.

Byron Hawkins' 3-pointer with 1 second left wasn't enough for Towson, who got 28 points from William Adala Moto, a Wake Forest transfer who sat out last season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Morsell and Hawkins each scored 13 and Walter Foster grabbed 12 rebounds.
