Georgia Southern routs Webber 116-49

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) Jason Burnell scored 19 points, hitting four 3-pointers, to lead Georgia Southern to a 116-49 win over Webber International on Friday night.

He got help from five more Georgia Southern players in double digits. Tookie Brown and Jonathan Sanks added 12 points apiece, Ike Smith and Jake Allsmiller had 11 each and Coye Simmons 10 for Georgia Southern, which has won all five of its matchups over the lower-division Webber since 1997. Simmons also had 11 rebounds.

The Eagles held Webber, an NAIA team, to just 26.2 percent shooting from the floor and controlled the boards, 66-37. They hit 41 of 83 from the floor and 15 of 40 from beyond the arc.

Sam Auguste led Webber with 10 points and three rebounds.

Georgia Southern has just four returning players and the highest percentage of underclassmen on a Division I roster this season.
