Northridge rallies past Wright State 72-67

DEKALB, Ill. (AP) Micheal Warren scored 21 points and Cal State Northridge closed the game with a 15-4 run to rally past Wright State 72-67 on Saturday night at the Northern Illinois Showcase.

Warren made 11 of 12 free throws for the Matadors (1-1), including 5 of 6 and a jumper down the stretch. Northridge finished 25 of 33 from the line, 18 of 23 in the second half, while the Raiders (1-1) went 5 of 9.

Wright State raced to a 12-2 lead and led 33-27 at the half. The Raiders were up 61-51 with 6:11 to play. Northridge tied the game at 63 on a Warren jumper and took a 65-64 lead when Tavrion Dawson scored at the 1:05 mark. Jason Richardson followed with a steal and layup and made two free throws after another steal.

Dawson finished with 15 points.

Grant Benzinger hit 5 of 6 3s for 15 points as Wright State went 12 of 22 from behind the arc.
