Presbyterian edges SC-Upstate 74-73 in last 2 seconds

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) Reggie Dillard, scoreless after taking five shots, nailed a pair of free throws in the final two seconds, lifting Presbyterian to a 74-73 come-from-behind win over South Carolina-Upstate.

DeSean Murray led the Blue Hose (1-1) with 24 points, matching his career high. Ed Drew added 12 points.

The Spartans led 67-60 with just under eight minutes left, and were still ahead 73-69 with the clock at 2:13.

In those final moments, Murray sank three foul shots, pulling Presbyterian to 73-72, as Upstate's leading scorer Damian Goodwin fouled out with 40 seconds remaining. The clock ticked down to less than two seconds before Dillard was fouled.

Goodwin led the Spartans (0-2) with 14 points and was among four Upstate players to foul out. There were 48 fouls called in the game.

Deion Holmes scored a career-best 12 points for Upstate.
