UNLV freshman Derrick Jones is quickly earning a reputation for his explosive dunks.

UNLV freshman Derrick Jones is quickly earning a reputation for his explosive dunks.

In May, Jones jumped over four people during a high school dunk contest. On Monday, he soared toward the hoop for highlight dunk against Division II New Mexico Highlands University. 

Jones caught a pass on the right wing, took a few dribbles and took off from the edge of the paint while four defenders converged on him.

The Rebels blew out the Cowboys, 107–45. Jones finished with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.
