UNC-Greensboro pulls away from D-II Chowas 81-60

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) RJ White scored 19 points, Kayel Locke had 18 points and seven rebounds, and UNC-Greensboro beat Division II Chowan 81-60 on Tuesday night.

UNC-Greensboro led by 17 points early in the second half, but Chowan clawed within single digits at 54-45 with 10:44 remaining. The Spartans steadily increased their lead and Marvin Smith's 3-pointer made it 76-56 with 2:43 left.

Francis Alonso added 12 points for UNC-Greensboro (2-0). The Spartans made 30 of 55 field goals (55 percent), including eight 3-pointers, and hit 13 of 23 free throws.

Diante Baldwin had 7 points and six rebounds in the first half to help UNC-Greensboro build a 35-25 lead at halftime.

Hank Edmonds led Chowan with 16 points and Marco Haskins added 15. It was an exhibition game for the Braves.
