Murray State catches Middle Tennessee 76-65

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) Jeffery Moss scored 19 points and Wayne Langston added 15 as Murray State defeated Middle Tennessee 76-65 on Tuesday night.

Middle Tennessee (0-1) jumped out early with Giddy Potts shooting a 3-pointer 21 seconds into the game, and Murray State didn't catch up until a Gee McGhee 3-point play tied it at 15 with 9:48 left in the half. The Racers (2-0) led 37-30 by halftime and built double-digit leads in the second half.

Moss made just 5 of 16 field goals but was a perfect 6-for-6 at the foul line, and Murray State shot nearly 46 percent from the field (27-59), and had 18 assists.

Demarcus Croaker and Chad Culberth pitched in 10 points each for the Racers.

Reggie Upshaw paced the Blue Raiders with 18 points and eight rebounds, Potts added 15 points, going 5-for-7 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers.
