Jacksonville beats Florida College 81-63

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Marcel White scored 19, Kori Babineaux added 18 on 8-of-16 shooting, and Jacksonville beat Florida College 81-63 Friday night.

Darius Dawkins scored 14 and shot 4 of 8 from 3-point range for the Dolphins (1-2), who used 18 assists to score 26 field goals and never trailed.

Demontrez Austin made a jumper and a dunk and the Dolphins pulled ahead 52-30 in the second half. Florida College gained ground on a 10-0 run, but Jacksonville responded with a 10-3 spurt.

Dawkins hit 2-of-4 3-pointers in the first half amid Jacksonville's opening 14-7 run, and the Dolphins led 41-25 at halftime on 58 percent shooting.

Jacksonville scored 28 points off of turnovers, outrebounded the Falcons, members of the National Christian College Athletic Association, 46-34, and scored 30 points in the paint.

Zach Brock led Florida College (1-4) with 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting from behind the arc.
