Montana State beats San Jose State 81-69

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) Marcus Colbert tied a career high with 27 points, Tyler Hall added 16 points and Montana State beat San Jose State 81-69 on Friday night.

The Bobcats (2-2) used a 10-2 run to lead 58-42 on Colbert's free throw with 11:29 left. San Jose State (1-2) briefly cut the deficit to single digits at 70-61 on Jaycee Hillsman's 3 with 3:19 left.

Colbert was 8 of 13 from the floor, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range, and 8 of 10 on free throws. It matched his 27-point effort in a 92-68 loss to Eastern Washington on Feb. 26. He also had six assists and four steals, and Danny Robison added 13 points and nine rebounds.

Princeton Onwas led the Spartans with 21 points and Frank Rogers scored 15.

The Bobcats outrebounded San Jose State 45-25.
