The Miami Hurricanes defeated No. 16 Utah 90–66 at Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Friday night. 

The Hurricanes were led by Sheldon McClellan who scored 27 points. Center Tonye Jekiri finished with his first double double of the season and a career-high of 20 points. He recorded 12 rebounds.

Utah turned the ball over 14 times and shot just 38.1% from three-point range. Forward Jordan Loveridge led the Utes with 18 points.

Miami has not made the NCAA tournament since 2013. It finished last season with a 25–13 record before making a run to the National Invitation Tournament title game. The Hurricanes improved to 4–0 after downing Texas Rio Grande Valley, Louisiana Lafayette and Mississippi State in their first three games.

Utah dropped its first game of the year after getting off to a 3–0 start with victories over Southern Utah, San Diego State and Texas Tech. It will look to rebound at home against Idaho State on Nov. 27.
