Florida Gators quarterback Will Grier lost his NCAA appeal to shorten his one-year suspension for a positive drug test, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

Grier remains suspended until the seventh game of the 2016 season, when the Gators host Missouri on Oct. 15.

Grier says he took an over-the-counter supplement containing an ingredient banned by the NCAA. Grier said he did not consult with the team medical staff before taking the supplement, which was detected in an NCAA drug test.
