Bowie's 33 lead UTSA past Southern Utah 82-79

CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) Ryan Bowie had a career-high 33 points, including seven of Texas-San Antonio's last eight points on Saturday night to help the Roadrunners hold off Southern Utah 82-79 and get their first win of the season.

The senior was 4 of 5 from 3-point range, 9 of 12 from the field and 11 of 13 from the foul line.

The Roadrunners (1-3) led 74-72 with 3:07 left when Bowie scored a layup. His free throws with 2:34 left pushed the lead to 78-75, he made 1 of 2 at the 2-minute mark and sank both with 9.4 seconds left to cap the scoring.

Lucas O'Brien secured the rebound after James McGee's missed 3-pointer with 7 seconds left and UTSA held on from there.

J.R. Harris added 18 points and Nick Allen 10.

Travon Langston had 15 points to lead the Thunderbirds (0-3) and Race Parsons scored 14.
