College Football Playoff rankings: Clemson, Bama, Oklahoma, Iowa

The College Football Playoff Committee released their fourth playoff rankings of the season on Tuesday.

The Clemson Tigers are No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings for a fourth straight week after a 33–13 win over Wake Forest brought their record to 11–0. They meet South Carolina this week to close out their regular season, and take on No. 14 North Carolina in the ACC title game on Dec. 5.

Alabama remains No. 2 in the rankings after cruising by Charleston Southern 56–6 last week. They’ll meet Auburn this week for a shot to finish the season 11–1.

After a win over TCU, Oklahoma debuts in the Top 4 this week at No. 3. They have the No. 1 ranking in the Football Power Index, and the third-best strength of record.

Iowa is still undefeated after a 40–20 win over Purdue on Saturday, and jumps up from No. 5 to make its debut in the Top 4 this week after Ohio State’s loss to Michigan State. They’ll finish up their season on the road against Nebraska.

Michigan State is up to No. 5 after a big 17–14 win on the road against Ohio State. They meet Penn State to close out their season.

Notre Dame held on for a 19–16 victory last week against 3–8 Boston College at Fenway Park, and slipped from No. 4 to No. 6 as a result.
