Notre Dame is coming off a narrow 19–16 victory over Boston College last weekend at Fenway Park in Boston. Quarterback DeShone Kizer and the offense missed several key opportunities with five turnovers, three of which were in the Boston College red zone. Kizer finished 20–of–38 passing for 320 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Chris Brown caught six of those passes for 104 yards.
The Fighting Irish may be without leading rusher C.J. Prosise and cornerback KeiVarae Russell, who were listed as doubtful toward the beginning of the week.
Notre Dame leads the all-time head-to-head series between the two schools with a 19–10 record. The home team has won each of the last four meetings.
