South Carolina junior wide receiver Pharoh Cooper will forego his final year of eligibility and enter the 2016 NFL draft, his father told The State on Tuesday.
This means Saturday’s game against the No. 1 Clemson Tigers will be the last one of his collegiate career.
“He wants to ride the wave at its high point” Pharoh’s father, Glen, said. He added that his son didn’t want to risk injury by returning to school.
Cooper has caught 62 passes this year for 887 yards and seven touchdowns for the 3–8 Gamecocks, along with playing the role of Wildcat quarterback.
