Youngstown State downs Thiel College 69-55

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) Bobby Hain and Jorden Kaufman scored 13 points apiece and Youngstown State beat Division III Thiel College 69-55 on Wednesday.

Cameron Morse scored 12 points, Jordan Andrews added 10, and the Penguins (2-4) outrebounded the Tomcats 40-24, with Hain grabbing eight and Kaufman six.

Trailing 30-27 at halftime, Thiel tied it at 32 and 45 in the second half before Andrews broke it open by scoring eight straight points to spark a 20-4 run the Penguins used to pull away 68-49 with 3:01 left.

Matt Donlan and Morse each hit 3-pointers, Sidney Umude dunked and Youngstown State led 10-6, then pulled away on an 11-3 run. But Thiel rallied and led 23-21 after 3s by Tyreik Burton and Leandra Jackson.

Luke Kochka led Thiel with 10 points and Khari Bess added 15 on 6-of-12 shooting.
