Tyson helps East Carolina handle Stetson 93-73

LAS VEGAS (AP) B.J. Tyson scored 22 points and East Carolina handled Stetson 93-73 in the Las Vegas Invitational tournament on Friday.

Tyson was 7 of 10 from the floor and made three 3-pointers as East Carolina (3-3) shot 54 percent overall and 10 of 21 from beyond the arc. Caleb White and Kentrell Barkley added 14 points apiece, while Barkley pulled down eight rebounds.

Stetson (2-4) was led by Luke Doyle with 16 points. Brian Pegg scored 14 points with seven boards while Divine Myles had 12 points with four steals and Leo Goodman added 11 points.

The Pirates raced out to a 13-4 lead as Tyson, White and Michael Zangari all his 3-pointers and led 47-34 at intermission.

A 22-4 run early in the second half pushed the lead to 28 points and Stetson never threatened.
