The best catch of a busy college football Saturday may have come late in the DukeWake Forest game.

With under two minutes to play, and the Demon Deacons down 13 points, quarterback John Wolford lobbed a pass 22 yards down the left sideline for freshman wide receiver Cortez Lewis.

Lewis found himself tangled up with Duke defensive back DeVon Edwards near the pylon, but managed to reach his left arm out to snag the ball, all while keeping a foot inside the sideline.

Wake Forest’s comeback effort fell short, as they finished the season 3–9 after a 27–21 loss. Lewis finished with five catches for 68 yards and a score, while Wolford totaled 338 yards and two touchdowns passing, with two interceptions.

The touchdown catch was the fourth of the season for Lewis, who finished his first season on campus with 47 receptions for 611 yards.
