Dons use big second half to overwhelm Delaware State 67-47

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Devin Watson scored 18 points and San Francisco outscored Delaware State by 22 points in the second half to take a 67-47 victory on Sunday.

The Hornets (0-7) made six 3-pointers and led 25-23 at halftime. But they shot just 28.6 percent in the second half when they made only 2 of 12 from the arc.

The Dons (4-2) scored the first seven points of the second half. Runs of 16-0 and 12-0 expanded their lead to 27 points with 3:11 to go.

Watson made four 3-pointers. Tim Derksen added 14 points. The Dons shot 61.5 percent in the second half.

The Dons outrebounded the Hornets 41-31 and had a 30-10 advantage in the paint.

DeAndre Haywood led the Hornets with 11 points, but they came all in the first half.
