Maryland will meet with former Georgia coach Mark Richt to discuss the Terrapins’ coaching vacancy, Jeff Ermann of InsideMDSports.com reports

The two parties have already spoken and could meet in person as early as Tuesday, Ermann reports.

Richt, 55, left Georgia on Sunday in what the school described as a mutual parting of ways. He had been the Bulldogs’ head coach for 15 years, winning two SEC championships and six SEC East division titles. He was named the conference’s coach of the year in 2002 and 2005.

Maryland is seeking to replace Randy Edsall, who was fired in October after a 2–4 start. The Terps went 1–5 under interim head coach Mike Locksley.
