SE Louisiana rolls over NAIA's Loyola (New Orleans) 101-65

HAMMOND, La. (AP) Mike Hawkins was 5 of 9 from beyond the arc for 17 points to lead Southeastern Louisiana to a 101-65 win over NAIA's Loyola (New Orleans) on Tuesday night.

Southeastern Louisiana (2-6) was ahead 55-36 at halftime and dominated the second half 46-29.

The Lions finished with seven players in double figures. Jordan Capps, who also grabbed 10 rebounds, and Dimi Cook had 12 points apiece. Marlain Veal added 11 and Moses Greenwood, James Currington and Keith Charleston had 10 each.

Southeastern Louisiana, which made a scorching 20 of 30 (66.7 percent) field goals in the first half, cooled off in the last period to shoot 36 of 63 (57.1 percent) for the game while limiting the Wolfpack to 20-of-54 (37 percent) shooting. The Lions also won the rebound battle 49-27.

Tre'Von Jasmine and Ethan Turner had 12 points apiece for Loyola.
