UC Irvine rallies past Pacific 70-67

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) Mamadou Ndiaye scored 19 points and hauled down 14 rebounds - including a defensive board in the last two seconds to preserve UC Irvine's 70-67 come-from-behind win at Pacific on Friday night.

The Anteaters (6-2) outscored Pacific 12-4 in the final five minutes to overtake the Tigers (1-6). Jaron Martin scored a 3-pointer and followed with a layup, cutting Pacific's lead to 67-63.

Jacob Lampkin bumped the Tigers back up by four points with his basket at 2:31 remaining. But then Irvine's Luke Nelson drained a 3-pointer, Ndiaye threw down a dunk and Dominique Dunning drove for a layup as the Anteaters led 68-67.

Pacific's Alec Kobre missed a 3 with two seconds left, Ndiaye grabbed the board and held on until the horn sounded. Kobre scored 23 - including hitting 4 of 9 3 pointers - to lead Pacific.

Martin scored 16 points with four 3-pointers for Irvine, Mike Best and Alex Young added 11 each.
