Report: Eagles coach Chip Kelly likely to stay through 2016
The Philadelphia Eagles ownership has no plans to cut ties with head coach Chip Kelly and it is not expected that Kelly will take another job, professional or collegiate, until the end of his current contract, reports Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.
According to the report, owner Jeffery Lurie strongly supports Kelly and that has not changed despite three consecutive losses and unrest in the locker room.
After two seasons coaching the team, Kelly was given total control over the Eagles roster and Philadelphia would have to find a new coach and general manager if he was fired.
Kelly is still big name in the college ranks—his name was thrown around for the USC head coaching vacancy that went to interim coach Clay Helton and forLSU when it was speculated that Les Miles would be fired.

The Eagles (4–7) have disappointed this year after going 10–6 in the 2014 regular season. Even with three-straight losses and poor play throughout the year, Philadelphia is only one game back of the Washington Redskins and New York Giants in a week NFC East.
Kelly is has a 24–16 regular season record since joining the Eagles, and is 0–1 in the playoffs. He is in the third season of a five-year, $32.5 million contract.
