Pepperdine holds off Ball State 72-63

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) Shawn Olden scored 18 points with four 3-pointers, Lamond Murray Jr. hit the go-ahead basket, and Pepperdine held off a Ball State surge to win 72-63 on Saturday to win its fourth straight.

Stacy Davis had 16 points and 12 rebounds, Jeremy Major scored 14 points with five assists, and Murray added 10 points for the Waves (6-4), who made 10 of 19 3-pointers (53 percent) and shot 12 of 15 free throws (80 percent).

Trailing 39-30 at halftime, Francis Kiapway hit back-to-back 3s amid an 11-4 run and Ball State rallied to a 51-49 lead on Bo Calhoun's jumper with 12:22 left, then led 60-54 after Kiapway and Ryan Weber each hit 3s. Murray's 3 put Pepperdine back on top 62-61 with 3:17 left and kicked off a 13-2 run the Waves used to finish the game.

Calhoun scored 14, Weber 13, and Franko House and Kiapway added 10 apiece for the Cardinals (7-3).
